The challenge
A regional streaming platform planned a European launch of their Korean drama catalogue with a 12-week deadline. Existing machine-translated subtitles were not meeting their internal quality bar in user testing.
Our approach
We assembled a dedicated team of 6 Korean→European subtitlers (German, French, Spanish, Italian) with experience in narrative content. Implemented a glossary-shared workflow so cultural references and recurring character voices stayed consistent across the catalogue. Delivered SRT files with full review at 17 cps reading speed.
The outcome
210 hours delivered on time. 7-day retention up 23% in German market vs. previous machine-translated subtitles. Renewed contract for 2026 catalogue.
