Looking Ahead: Our 2026 Roadmap

A note from the founder on what we built in 2025, what we got wrong, and where we are taking Orientspeak in 2026.

It has become a tradition for me to share an annual reflection in November before the holiday slowdown. 2025 was the year we crossed 20 full-time linguists, expanded our team further, and invested in process documentation and team training.

What worked

Our investment in regulated document services paid off. We expanded our local partner network for sworn translation, legalisation and apostille workflows, and demand for this segment grew strongly year-on-year.

Our subtitling team — five people at the start of 2025, eight today — delivered over 4,200 hours of finished content for streaming and corporate clients.

What we got wrong

We over-invested in a self-service portal that customers did not actually want. Most of our work is custom enough that talking to a human is faster than navigating a dashboard. We have shelved the portal and put those resources back into hiring.

The 2026 roadmap

  • Strengthen our European and US partner networks
  • Add Vietnamese and Indonesian to our core language stack
  • Continue investing in process documentation and translator training (Post-Editing of Machine Translation) — this signals we use AI tools responsibly, not that we replace humans with them
  • Launch our paid mentorship programme for 5 junior translators in our network
